Since the launch of the International Space Station (ISS), the planet Venus is the third brightest object in the sky. Despite its peaceful appearance, it’s not the kind of place you would like to go on holidays.

The pressure on its surface is very high and it has clouds of sulfuric acid. Its surface temperature is 735° Kelvin (462° Celcius).

Fortunately, we can stay on Earth to enjoy the beauty of its lunar-like phases through a telescope and relive the historical observations of Galileo, who provided evidence that the planets revolve around the Sun.
